FAQs

Because every project is different, we always like to chat with potential clients before sending over a quote.
After we've had a chance to talk about your unique business goals, we'll put together a custom proposal tailored to fit your specific needs.
That said, as a ballpark figure, most of our clients spend around the £4-10K mark on brand identity projects depending on the specific deliverables.
If you’re looking for something more wallet-friendly, our intensives deliver high-quality custom design within a week.
-
We focus on B2C food & lifestyle brands, by which we mean businesses that sell consumer products. So whether you’re in food & drink, beauty & cosmetics, homeware or fashion we’d love to hear from you! If you’re unsure, then get in touch we can let you know if you might be a good fit.
-
Each project varies in scope so the particular timings do vary. For a brand identity it would be around 2-8 weeks depending on the deliverables.
Our availability varies throughout the year, but we typically book projects a month in advance so bear that in mind when reaching out to work with us.
-
We'll review your information and if it looks like we could be a good fit, we’ll schedule an intro call with Claudia, our Founder & Creative Director, who’ll introduce Freckle, answer any questions you may have and determine the project scope.
Then we’ll send you a project proposal and if you’re happy to go ahead and accept it, we’ll send you a contract to sign and an invoice for 25% of the project cost upfront.
-
Because our client base is predominantly made up of young businesses, we tailor our pricing to reflect that so we aren’t able to offer any discounts.
-
If your enquiry is urgent and we are able to accommodate you in our schedule then we will of course try to fit you in. There may be a rush fee depending on the deadline and specific deliverables.
-
Working with young brands, we get that investing in design is a big investment, so we break up the total cost into 2—4 payments depending on how big the project is, billing for a non-refundable 50% upfront on all projects.
We’re flexible and are happy to discuss options that work best with your budget.
The final invoice for the remainder of your project's cost will be issued upon final approval of your branding assets, and before we send you your file suite.
All invoices are sent via Dubsado and you can either pay online with a credit card or via bank transfer.
-
All deposits are non-refundable as it is our way of securing your booking. We book projects several weeks ahead of time, and scheduling ensures that we give all of my clients the proper amount of time that their project deserves. If you back out of the project, you may leave an empty spot that could have been given to another project. The deposits ensure that clients are serious about moving forward with the project.
-
If for some reason you are still not happy after two rounds of refinements, we will continue the refinement process at our current hourly rate.
We go through an in-depth questionnaire and briefing process in the beginning to make sure we are on the same page, so most of the time 2 refinement rounds are plenty!

Great news! The studio’s availability varies throughout the year, but we typically book projects a couple of weeks in advance. If you have something urgent, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

We sit happily in between a freelancer and an agency. Freckle founder, Claudia, will be the main point of contact throughout your project and will take the lead on the creative direction. But we have satellite team members who provide specialised services when required e.g. illustration, animation, web development.

Nope! We don’t offer marketing strategy work but it’s important to have a solid brand strategy in place before working up a marketing plan.
Your brand strategy is a comprehensive document that gives you a clear idea of your foundations as a brand, answering questions like who your brand is, how you fit in the market, and who you’re talking to.
-
01 Discover
Before we put pen to paper, we ask you a series of questions to help us better understand your business objectives and your hopes for the brand’s visual identity. Whether you have lots of ideas, or need a bit of hand-holding, this stage creates a solid foundation that will allow us to create an effective brand that appeals to your audience and expresses your vision.
-
02 Explore
This stage is where we compile different creative routes that showcase unique combinations of colour palette, typography and graphics by assembling moodboards of detailed reference imagery and inspiration.
-
03 Design
Once the creative direction has been approved, the full brand and logo suite will be developed. Depending on which package you’ve selected, this will include anything from typefaces and colour palettes to iconography, graphics and photo treatments.
-
04 Refine
Once the brand assets have been confirmed we will compile your brand guidelines (or one-pager brand board for the Pitch Perfect package), a master document that gives clear guidance on how to use the brand assets, so you can ensure consistency as you grow. You’ll also receive the final files for your logo and any other assets.
